Description
Instrument: Violin (4/4)
Component: Top (soundboard) plate
Wood: Solid one-piece spruce
Construction: Single billet, quarter-oriented grain
Working Stage: Rough arched externally; interior roughed; ready for final graduation, f-hole layout, bass bar fitting, and edge work
Length: Approximately 14.25 inches (β 362 mm)
The spruce displays straight, even grain with traditional violin tonewood characteristics. The plate has been carved to a preliminary working stage, leaving the maker full control over final graduations and acoustic tuning.
One-piece tops are less common than two-piece construction and are often selected for their visual continuity and tonal potential.
